Rappy Christmas! The 10 best festive hip hop songs of all time

Metro

Getting bored of Mistletoe And Whine and Noddy ‘strangled cockerel’ Holder? Here’s an alternative Christmas playlist. There are plenty of others, of course, but they’re seasonally stuffed with obscenities.

Great for a seasonal sing along, this. All together now – ‘Livin’ fast and ballin’ at Christmas time.’ In case you’re wondering, Dipset is short for The Diplomats, the musical group to which Jim lad belongs.

2. Outkast – Player’s Ball (Christmas Edition)

What’s more festive than celebrating the Player’s Ball – an annual convention of pimps? Anything. Great song though.

Video of the WEEK!

This week’s VOW is not going to be a music vid. It’s not going to be a song. It’s actually going to be a documentary. A very short one; looking at the history of hip-hop fashion over the years.

Check it out, it’s pretty interesting.

Work (Remix) Explicit – A$AP Ferg

Coogi down to the socks. Like I’m Biggie papa babyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy..!!

(Ahem! Sorry! Got a little carried away there)

And if you’re wondering what Coogi is, it’s a fashion label which is most famous for it’s colourful knitwear. Famously worn by Notorious B.I.G and other hip-hop artists, and even Bill Cosby!

Not only is it for males, but it’s also for females too, as they sell a variety of handbags, coats and dresses.

Check out the collection here at Dr Jays!

Video of the week: Salt-n-Pepa – Whatta Man

Throwwwbaaaack. A video to all you 90s babies (and non-90s babies). This song is so catchy even though the lyrics aren’t exactly great. I chose this video because their styling was on point in their day, even to this day the crop tops, denim and high shorts have surely made a comeback this summer.

So check it out. Leave a comment.
